Getting started

Everything you need before your first wager or pick.

Get a signup code

BragRights is invite-only while it’s small. Before you can do anything, you need an eight-character signup code from someone who’s already in. Enter it once, on the first screen after you sign in, and you’re through for good.

A signup code is not the same thing as a crew invite. The code gets you a BragRights account; a crew invite gets you into a particular group. You need the code first.

Sign in with a Google or Microsoft account. There’s no separate BragRights password to create or remember.

You’ll also be asked for your date of birth, and to accept the Terms and Privacy Policy. The date of birth is used to check you meet the minimum age set out in the Terms — nothing else, and it isn’t shown to anyone in your crew.

Create a crew, or join one

A crew is your group — the private space where you and your friends compete. Every crew is invite-only: you either create one and become its commissioner, or you join one using an invite link or code someone sends you.

Creating a crew only takes a name. Sensible defaults handle the rest, so your crew is playable the moment it exists — you can change settings like the allowance amount or which sports are enabled any time from the commissioner tools.

The commissioner runs the crew: settings, invites, and membership. A crew always has at least one.

Your starting Bones

The moment you join a crew, you’re credited an opening stake of Bones. After that, you receive a recurring allowance on whatever cadence the commissioner set — so a rough week never knocks you out of the running.

Nothing here is real money. Bones can’t be bought, sold, or cashed out, for anyone, ever.

Placing your first wager or pick

Once your crew has games available, you can wager Bones on the moneyline, spread, or total — or make pick’em picks, if your crew runs pick’em. Both work the same way: pick a side, confirm, and it locks the moment the game starts. Nothing about it can be changed or cancelled after that, but right up until then you can change your mind freely.
